This is a Union Swtich and Signal MC-1 motorcar indicator.
These were used to signal to crews if the track was safe to run
a motorcar down. This style was often used by the Union Pacific.
This indicator would show three horizontal dots if a trian was
nearby, and if the track was safe, 3 vertical dots.
This is a US&S switch indicator. These were often
used in yards or on high priority main lines where knowing switch
position was extremely important. these are double sided.
